Effective March 1, 2009, the La Sima Foundation, Inc. is suspending all of it's out-patient substance abuse treatment programs. We will continue to provide drug and alcohol education and counseling, HIV and other STD prevention education/services, and transitional housing services.
The La Sima Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program provides the following services:
Evaluations
Individual Counseling
Group Counseling
Family Counseling
Spiritual Counseling
Recovery Support
Drug and Alcohol Education
Aftercare
The program is provided in two modalities:
Intensive Out-patient Program - "IOP"
Designed for individuals that meet the DSM-IV criteria for substance abuse or dependence, those that need assistance in embracing and sustaining recovery. The La Sima IOP is a 12 week program that meets Monday thru Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon or evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the La Sima Counseling Center. Program participants are provided with drug and alcohol counseling and education, stress management, relapse prevention, assertiveness training, family counseling and spirituality counseling.
Supportive Out-patient Program -"SOP"
Designed for individuals that have completed primary care treatment but need additional support in achieving sobriety. Program participants engage in two (2) group sessions weekly from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., or on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon for eight weeks. The primary focus of the program is relapse prevention training. Clients receive two individual counseling sessions monthly.
